Although the two could barely be called friends at the beginning of the MHA story, largely due to Bakugo’s bullying behavior, the dynamics changed eventually, and they ended up forging what can be considered to be a wonderful friendship over the years. Horikoshi Found Their Dynamic Challenging
Bakugo Complicated The Relationship
According to Horikoshi, Bakugo and Deku’s dynamic was particularly challenging for him to write, and this is largely because even a single misstep by him could cause the whole thing to fall apart. Writing a relationship that isn’t exactly friendly, especially where one is a bully can be quite a difficult task for the author, especially when neither of the two is exactly a villain.
