RUMOR: Marvel Is Considering A Breaking Bad Star To Play An Iconic X-Men Character
Marvel is hoping to cast a Breaking Bad star to take on an iconic X-Men character for the MCU version of the popular mutants.
Jack Champion is one name that has come up multiple times online, with fans latching onto the idea that he could end up playing Cyclops. He’s one of the most important characters within the X-Men, often portrayed as the group leader and someone who hasn’t truly been given the live-action representation he deserves. However, when speaking to Josh Wilding, Champion addressed the rumor and revealed whether or not he will indeed be joining the MCU.
“It’s definitely news to me. I mean, I hope it comes true, you know. I definitely would love to play that character but you know, rumors.”
Champion is best known to most people for his role in Avatar 2: The Way of Water, where he takes on the role of Spider, which he will be reprising for the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash. However, he has also appeared in the lies of Scream VI and Freaky Tales and is building up an impressive resume for himself in the world of Hollywood. That’s why the idea of him joining the MCU right now would be exciting to many people. Given that he’s only 20 years old, there’s a chance he could be around the franchise for a long time to come. It is believed that Marvel Studios wants to cast a younger version of the X-Men than has been seen before in other live-action versions of the group. This would allow them to grow and develop their powers within the movies, whether that’s as a team or in potential spinoff films if any of the individual characters prove popular enough to warrant that. This is why Champion has been rumored so heavily, as he falls into the ideal age bracket if Marvel does indeed go along with that idea. However, before Marvel fans are introduced to the new look version of the X-Men that will be carrying the superhero group forward, fans will be taken back to the past. That’s because various actors from the original Fox X-Men movie will be reprising their roles to be part of Avengers: Doomsday. The likes of Sir Ian McKellan, James Marsden, and Alan Cumming will be part of that film in what is expected to be a major multiverse storyline that will give Marvel fans a glimpse of what the X-Men will look and feel like within the McU. However, moving forward after Avengers: Secret Wars, it is expected that a fresh, new lineup of the X-Men will be revealed, which will undoubtedly provide the MCU with a lot of new storyline ideas that Champion may end up being part of.
