At this point in Genshin Impact, the Natlan region arc is coming to an end, and the Nod-Krai subregion arc is fast approaching. Genshin Impact’s version 5.8 update is anticipated to arrive around July 30, 2025, and this update will serve as the prologue for the Nod-Krai subregion of Snezhnaya, paving the way for the next chapter of Teyvat’s Archon questlines and potentially a new meta. Given that Genshin Impact’s version 5.7 update only recently released, the majority of the features and new content coming in the version 5.8 update are yet to be revealed. However, HoYoverse has just announced a new playable character coming to Genshin Impact in version 5.8: Ineffa. This reveal has confirmed that Ineffa will be a five-star Electro Polearm user from Nod-Krai. Beyond this, there are already several credible leaks regarding Ineffa’s full kit.

A playable Trailblazer from Honkai: Star Rail in Genshin Impact would bring fresh creativity and innovation to the gaming universe.

One of the most notable pieces of information about Ineffa so far is a leak from HomdgCat, revealing her kit, stats, and character Constellation upgrades. According to this and other recent leaks, Ineffa will allegedly introduce the new Lunar Electro-Charged Elemental Reaction in Genshin Impact, which is anticipated to become a common feature among future playable characters from the Nod-Krai subregion.

Ineffa’s Strengths

ATK scaling Talents and attacks help to prevent power creep from future metas.

Provides an Electro shield and team-wide buffs that persist while off-field.

Elemental Skill and Burst can deal off-field damage, fueling Electro Elemental Reactions and generating Energy.

Even if off-field, Ineffa can convert teammates’ Electro-Charged Elemental Reactions into Lunar Electro-Charged Elemental Reactions.

Lunar Electro-Charged Elemental Reactions are said to be capable of dealing critical hit damage and scale with off-field characters.

Character Constellation upgrades provide additional team-wide buffs, further increases to Lunar Electro-Charged Elemental Reactions, upgrades to Ineffa’s Talent levels, and unique new passive attacks.

Ineffa’s Weaknesses

Buffs limited to Electro-Charged Elemental Reactions restrict Ineffa’s compatibility with other Elements.

Ineffa’s ideal team comp for Lunar Electro-Charged Elemental Reactions may not be available until future updates, making her a risky investment during her debut Event Wish Banner.

Ineffa Could Be the Key to a New Electro-Charged Hypercarry Meta in Genshin Impact

Ineffa’s biggest potential weakness is arguably her reliance on one specific type of Elemental Reaction to reach her full potential, which limits her ability to fit into diverse team comps. Electro is typically used to fuel crowd control Elemental Reactions, while Pyro, Hydro, and Cryo Elemental Reactions are generally better for single-target DPS, which is why Mavuika and Skirk in Genshin Impact are some of the best hypercarries. However, it remains to be seen how powerful the new Lunar Electro-Charged Elemental Reaction will be. So, with the right team, Ineffa could be the key to Electro-Charged team comps finally competing with Genshin Impact’s current Melt and Freeze meta, potentially outperforming them, or at least giving them some healthy competition.

Ineffa’s Off-Field DPS and Support Kit Could Make Up For Her Lunar Electro-Charged Elemental Reactions Niche

Despite lacking an ability or compatible Element that can deal a high amount of damage in a single-instance nuke attack to make her a proper DPS, Ineffa’s persistent off-field buffs, shielding, and Electro Elemental attacks could instead put her among some of the best support characters in Genshin Impact, like Furina and Xilonen. So, even if players don’t want to specifically invest in a dedicated Electro-Charged team comp to capitalize on the new Lunar Electro-Charged Elemental Reaction, Ineffa’s off-field DoT abilities and support buffs that scale with her ATK could still make her a powerful sub-DPS, support, and battery, all-in-one for a rainbow team comp.
