Although the main campaign of Death Stranding 2 is relatively long and carries all the elements that showcase Hideo Kojima’s signature narrative style, it never feels bloated. In just over 40 hours, when focusing only on the primary objectives, players can witness every event in this new chapter of Sam’s story, yet that is far from everything the game offers.

Death Stranding 2: Chapter and Orders List
Death Stranding 2 features dozens of Orders and narrative Episodes. Here’s a complete list of both to help track your story progress.
Death Stranding 2 is also packed with side quests and locations that invite deeper exploration, so anyone eager to dive further into this world has even more incentive to tackle the game’s additional content. Fortunately, the postgame brings a few new features that, while not radically changing gameplay, serve as a particularly engaging addition for fans who want more of Kojima’s universe. This post contains major spoilers related to the ending of Death Stranding 2.
How Does the Postgame of Death Stranding 2 Work?
Without venturing into major spoilers about the final acts of Death Stranding 2, players can expect a conclusion worthy of the journey so far: the characters travel to The Beach to defeat Higgs once and for all. After a lengthy sequence of cutscenes and several encounters with the final villain and some scenes not related to Higgs, the credits roll. While not every question gets answered, many mysteries resolve in these last moments, especially regarding Tomorrow’s true identity and the fate of several characters after the story concludes. For those invested in the narrative, the ending ties the adventure together while still leaving room for a possible sequel. Once the credits finish, Sam returns to DHV Magellan and Episode 17, “One Day,” begins. Although it appears like any other chapter, it carries no explicit objectives and effectively functions as the game’s postgame. Players no longer need to worry about priority orders or similar tasks. In this way, Death Stranding 2’s postgame exists to let players wrap up any unfinished business from Sam’s journey, especially locations that went unexplored. Even though the main story takes him across various parts of Mexico and Australia, there are still areas that must be discovered independently. Additionally, it’s possible to strengthen connections with Preppers already in the Chiral Network, offering a chance to explore any optional content that was left behind.
Should You Switch the Drawbridge Q-Pid On or Off?
Before regaining full freedom to explore and complete pending orders, players must decide whether to Drawbridge Q-Pid On or Off. The “right” choice depends on playstyle, as it influences enemy density during exploration.
Turn the Drawbridge Q-Pid Off if you want combat on par with the game’s final chapters.
Turn the Drawbridge Q-Pid On if you prefer focusing on deliveries with lighter combat.
Players who want to emphasize exploration without loading Sam’s inventory with weapons should keep the Drawbridge Q-Pid On. This choice lets them enjoy the world’s stunning views without additional threats, making endgame travel more satisfying.
New Items for the Postgame of Death Stranding 2
After finishing the main campaign of Death Stranding 2, players are rewarded with a few new items for Sam to use while exploring the map during the game’s postgame. Unfortunately, these items don’t add anything particularly significant to the gameplay. There are no exclusive tools or gear for this stage, so they serve more as cosmetic additions for Sam.

In addition to these items, players will also notice that most of the characters who were part of the DHV Magellan’s population are no longer present after completing Death Stranding 2, largely due to story-related reasons. However, even though they are absent, the ship continues to operate normally, still allowing players to use features like Fast Travel.
